Produce Fishing region Manage boats Equipment/Crew Fishing pools Loading boats Upgrades
The following are notes on my own opinions on loading boats.
Stay away from the freezers as much as you can, they are the most expensive equipment out there.
Don't waste boat slots on hazard equipment because it's more important to get as much fish as you can in less time.
You will make the most of the fishing area if you get your boats out and back in as fast as you can.
Fill your boats with Travel time saved and Fish caught per hour.
The faster you empty those pools, the faster you'll get new ones.

see also Getting started suggestions from pathway below, it's worth a look

Getting started suggestions from pathway (US1) Thank you for sharing this with us.
I recommend keeping a uniform fleet, i.e. all boats of a single kind, on same level.
When you upgrade them, you upgrade them all to level 2, then all to level 3 and so on. This way, it is easier to remember the equipment formula for your boats. This makes the entire fishing experience simple & hassle free.
Trawlers are the best. But all the players below level 120 can't build them. So, for them, I recommend having a fleet of 14 Runabouts. They are better than Motorboats and faster than Norfolk wherry.
Here's how to equip Runabouts:
Runabout (level 1): 2 Coolbox + 2 Paul + 1 Gerald
Runabout (level 2): 2 Coolbox + 3 Paul + 1 Gerald
Runabout (level 3): 3 Coolbox + 3 Paul + 1 Gerald
Runabout (level 4): 4 Coolbox + 3 Paul + 1 Gerald
Runabout (level 5): 5 Coolbox + 3 Paul + 1 Gerald
Runabout (level 6): 6 Coolbox + 3 Paul + 1 Gerald
NOTE: I recommend that you DON'T upgrade your runabouts beyond level 4. Because they are temporary and must be replaced with Trawlers after reaching level 120.
Here's the equipment formula for all levels of trawlers:
Trawler (level 1): 4 Roy + 3 Brigette
Trawler (level 2): 4 Roy + 4 Brigette
Trawler (level 3): 5 Roy + 4 Brigette
Trawler (level 4): 5 Roy + 5 Brigette
Trawler (level 5): 6 Roy + 5 Brigette
Trawler (level 6): 6 Roy + 6 Brigette
I know, different pools require different mix of equipment but many players like to keep it simple, thus these formulas
I also have trawler formulas using freezers, I call that night-time scheme.
Here is my night-time scheme. With this, the boats take longer to return but also catch a lot more fish.
Trawler (level 1): 4 Large Freezer + 2 Roy + 1 Victor
Trawler (level 2): 5 Large Freezer + 2 Roy + 1 Victor
Trawler (level 3): 5 Large Freezer + 3 Roy + 1 Victor
Trawler (level 4): 6 Large Freezer + 3 Roy + 1 Victor
Trawler (level 5): 7 Large Freezer + 3 Roy + 1 Victor
Trawler (level 6): 7 Large Freezer + 4 Roy + 1 Victor (307 fish in 16hrs pool #12, 11hrs pool #9)
This scheme can also be useful for those who only login once a day or so.
